Education is the foundation for all social development, whether it be in the under developed countries or in the developing ones. Nations can only strive to achieve success in elevating its society when a formal education framework has been set up to meet the desired results. What makes this tool an effective one is the fact that it works at the grass root level and gradually allow other developments to take place. Workers who make up the basis for all industrial and corporate efficiency can only work efficiently if they are educated in their particular field.
Better education does not mean expensive schooling and rigorous academic curriculum but rather a better education is one that anticipates the needs of the nation and tailors its framework accordingly. Integration of practical work, training for the job as well as prepare workers to achieve the desired efficiency all includes in this model. The following report aims to divest these facts. Education is the foundation of development and the groundwork for efficient human capital.
For poorly developed countries especially, where the economic prosperity of a country is dependent on the productivity of the individuals, productive workers are invaluable. The rest of the national framework like social, economic as well as the political structures are also dependent on the level of productivity of the people living in that country. In Pakistan there is much raw labor than skilled ones and the government has come to rely on the small pool of skilled workers in the last few years for economic progress purposes.
As part of the regional group of developing nations Pakistan’s first step towards progress is to focus on the development of human capital and this require the inclusion of education. By increasing the value of the educated labor, Pakistan not only will be raising its standards of productivity but it will also ensure its workforce is accepted at the international level. It will be able to compete with the world market which is characterized by technically as well as intellectually skilled workforce.
Similarly, educated workers are not merely contribution to the economic progress alone through expended labor; they are beneficial at the micro level as well. Industries and its components depend on workers for increased output -the higher the level of skilled workers the more the productive the company and industry. Thus, provision of education could be equated to investment in “human capital”.
