A restaurant or luncheonette Is an establishment which prepares and serves food and drink to customers In return for money. Meals are generally served and eaten on premises, but many restaurants also offer take-out and food delivery services. Nowadays, the requests of customer have been changed since the trend has been changed. The customers based on the quality and taste on food, would like to consider the place wherein the sanitation of the serving place and the place where the cooks cook the quality and quantity of the food they are served.
There are many reasons why the restaurant businesses failed. The Filipinos are living in the world with “relationship” with anything like person to person, person to cooperation, person to company, and etc. And one of relationship surround us Is relationship with restaurant and customers. To establish customer satisfaction to acquire constant customers, and to use customer as one of marketing strategies, It become one of the Important tasks to do so.
But to have those kinds of things restaurant, whereas food offers with payment, not only consider quality of food but how to have effective arrive, price, interior design, and the place where they create their own restaurant. When they fit with those conditions, the customers would have curiosity to be in to acquire their satisfaction of having meals in. The management of the luncheonettes or restaurants must know the customers satisfaction or they meet or surpass customer expectation for the services offered to know what the management of the luncheonette must going to improve to what they served and their services.
The other important factor here is how the staffs of the management could maintain the DOD relationship to customers in interacting or how they treat each other. And how to handle the customers behavior In the way that they will not get offended. Background of the Study Most of the college students now tends to buy and eat their meals either In the school canteen or outside the university. But they have some issues and concerns regarding where to eat nor to buy food.
In Far Eastern University – Manila, there are canteens and snack bars inside the campus as well as there are lot of restaurants or luncheonettes around near the area. But students considering some concerns like the quality and quantity of the DOD, a good service, their security, facilities, the price, and also how they are treated. The students have been using canteen, luncheonettes or restaurants for quite some time now because they are not able to prepare their own meal at home. Canteen takes great care of the students/customers even the researchers, great service, and great quality of foods.
The most caring people to deliver canteen’s delicious food, superior service and Innovative dining solutions. Statement of the Problem University Manila about the university canteens, eateries, and fast-food Restaurants inside and around the campus, their relationship to customers and costs of food And quality. Specifically, it will seek answer to the different questions: 1. How do the respondents rate the following services of the crew in the restaurants or luncheonettes around Far Eastern University – Manila? A. Service b. Food c. Price d. Facility / Environment e. Security 2.
What are the common problems encountered by the staffs or management to the students – customer? 3. How do the staffs handle the said problems? 4. How do the staffs maintain good relationship to the students – customer? Conceptual Framework In an organization’s side on measuring whether their business is successful or not, they are depending on sales or profit of the company. According to study at University of Texas in Austin about customer satisfaction, sales figures and if the trend is up or down over time are important. Usually strong sales mean customer satisfaction.
Sometimes it means that a business has a unique product with little or no competition but typically sales and customer satisfaction are correlated. Customer loyalty or repeat business is another important dimension of customer satisfaction. Brand recognition is another. Outstanding organizations have products that are recognized and respected. (“The Survey of Organizational Excellence”, n. D. ) On the other hand, the side of the customers are fulfillment of their satisfaction or sometimes meeting their expectation are really important to be considered by the business.
One way to know their satisfaction is through feedback survey because from that the business would analyze and make interpretation and is really important to the decision making of a certain company. The figure 1 shows that the students at Far Eastern University Manila have several hospices where to buy and eat their meals and snacks. Also their sides about the overall services such as how they are treated, the quality and quantity of the food and price, facilities, and security.
Significance of the Study Management of the Restaurant/Luncheonette The study would be able to help the whole functions of the Restaurants/ Luncheonette, especially managers and staffs to give more understanding on how their business sis running and if they succeed or failed. The Manager would guide this study in terms of decision making because they can gather information and tat’s from the study in various aspects of the business particularly in the business that they offer.
This also help staffs and crews on how would they treat their customers, on how they will meet the satisfaction of their customers, and give insights of the food they are serving as well as the price. And also they would be able to gather such information that can help to improve their services. College students particularly FEE students College Students particularly FEE Students, who are buying and eating their meals inside and around the campus would benefit to this study because they would be blew to know and get insights on a restaurant/luncheonette that can offer better service.
Also, this study would benefit students who are taking management courses like Business Management, Financial Management Marketing Management, and Human Resource Management, because they could see and analyze certain situation and some information’s that they can use when they are already in this field. Government The Government especially to those people who are in this field under the economy would benefit to this study because they would be able to know the insights of a college students about the said study. And they would be able to know such information to make bills or improve recent bills.
Scope and Delimitation This study focuses in determining the view and insights of the selected FEE the campus their Relationship to customers and cost of food and its quality. This will also give information to staffs and customers that it is important to have a good relationship because it can help to provide important information and suggestive data. This is also to give the whole management, customers/students from other school, FIJI students, Government and others to be informed which restaurant/ luncheonette offers better service.
Definition of Terms * Restaurant A Restaurant is an establishment where in the chef or cook prepares for food and the waiter was the one to serve in return for money, it’s either paid before the meal or after. Some of the restaurant offers take out and for delivery. * Luncheonette It is the so called light meals, while light meals stands for our snacks. The luncheonette is mostly in many places where we can easily avail it. * Customer Satisfaction Customer Satisfaction is a measure of how products and services supplied by a company meet or surpass customer expectation.
Customer satisfaction is defined as the number of customers, or percentage of total customers, whose reported experience with a firm, its products, or its services (ratings) exceeds specified satisfaction goals. * Canteen Canteen is also called Cafeteria; it is placed in schools office or any establishment. At the canteen there are the stalls of food to be avail by the costumers. * Canteen Eatery is also known as Careering or eating house, it is a commercial establishment the serves food. Fast-food Restaurant Fast food is the term given to food that can be prepared and served very quickly. While any meal with low preparation time can be considered to be fast food, typically he term refers to food sold in a restaurant or store with preheated or precooked ingredients, and served to the customer in a packaged form for take-out/take-away * Quality Quality is a perceptual, conditional, and somewhat subjective attribute and may be understood differently by different people.
It is the standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind. * Quantity Quantities can be compared in terms of more, less or equal, or by assigning a numerical value in terms of a unit of measurement. Quantity is among the basic classes of things along with quality, substance, change, and relation. Facility It is something that designed, built, installed, and etc. , to serve a specific function that affording a convenience or service. * Price It is the amount of money expected, required, or given in payment for something.
Staff/Crew Staff or Crew is the people employed by the particular organization or company.
